Below are the most common conditions that we treat.
Kyphosis: Kyphosis is a forward curvature of the spine measuring 50 degrees or greater on an x-ray.
While kyphosis can occur at any age, it’s most common in older women. Kyphosis is a spinal deformity which can be congenital, or due to acquire conditions. Noticeable signs of Kyphosis are a difference in shoulder height, protruding head, difference in shoulder blade height or position.
Herniated Disk: Herniated disk occurs when the soft substance on the inside of the disk is pushed out through a crack in the tough exterior.
Herniated disk is sometimes referred to as a slipped disk or ruptured disk. A herniated disk can irritate nearby nerves and result in pain, numbness/tingling or weakness that can shoot down an arm or leg.
Spinal Stenosis: Spinal Stenosis is a narrowing of the spinal column that causes pressure on the spinal cord and the nerves, which can result in back and leg pain.
Spinal stenosis is most commonly caused by wear and tear due to aging. Common symptoms of spinal stenosis include pain and difficulty walking, as well as numbness, tingling, a sensation of hot or cold, weakness or a heavy, tired feeling in the legs.
Scoliosis: Scoliosis is a sideways curvature of the spine that occurs most often during the growth spurt just before puberty.
The most common signs of scoliosis include uneven shoulders; one shoulder blade appears more prominent than the other, and an uneven waist.
Low Back Pain: Low back pain can range from mild, dull, annoying pain, to persistent, severe, disabling pain.
Low back pain can restrict mobility and interfere with everyday living activities. Symptoms of low back pain may include, muscle ache, shooting or stabbing pain, pain that radiates down your leg, limited flexibility or range of motion of the back, and inability to stand up straight.
Sciatica: Sciatica pain refers to pain that radiates from your low back through your hips and buttocks and down the back of your leg.
Sciatica is a symptom of another medical problem.
Sacroiliac Joint Pain: Sacroiliac joint (SI joint) pain may be caused by a change in the normal joint motion.
SI joint pain can be caused by too much movement called hypermobility or instability. This may be typically felt in the lower back and/or hip and may radiate into the groin area. Or SI joint pain can be caused by a lack of movement called hypomobility or fixation. This is typically felt on one side of the low back or buttocks and can radiate down the leg.
