About Dr. Manzi

Co-founder Suzanne Manzi, MD, provides interventional pain management services, electrodiagnostic testing, and weight management treatments to patients at Performance Pain and Sports Medicine. At the practice's locations in Houston and League City, Texas, Dr. Manzi provides individualized and comprehensive medical evaluations and treatment plans.

Born and raised at the Jersey Shore, Dr. Manzi played NCAA Division I Basketball for the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) and then went on to receive her medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine in 2005.

She completed her residency at Baylor College of Medicine/ UT PM & R Alliance in 2009, followed by a fellowship at Michigan State University and Lansing Orthopedics in 2010, encompassing Interventional Spine, Electrodiagnostic Medicine, and Pain Management. After spending a year in Reno, Nevada, Dr. Manzi returned to Houston, where she joined Pain Management Center of Houston, in conjunction with starting the Outpatient Interventional Pain program at TIRR Memorial Hermann Hospital. She now currently serves as off-site faculty for the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) Medical School. In June of 2016, she opened Performance Pain and Sports Medicine.

Dr. Manzi is an active member of the Harris County Medical Society (HCMS) where she served as President of the Southwest Branch in 2020.  She is now an active participant of the Central Branch. She is also a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (AAPMR), North American Neuromodulation Society (NANS), Texas Pain Society (TPS), Obesity Medicine Association, and American Association of Neuromuscular & Electrodiagnostic Medicine (AANEM), and is a Director at Large for The Society of Women Innovators in Pain Management (WIPM). Dr. Manzi also serves as Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston Medical School (UTHSC) Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation

Dr. Manzi has been voted "Houston's Top Doctors" by Houstonia magazine for multiple consecutive years and has also been named 2018 Top 3 Pain Management Doctors in Houston by ThreeBestRated.com. Her goals are to continue to build her private practice and incorporate it as a learning site for residents and fellows for continued education in Pain Medicine and Electrodiagnostic Medicine. She enjoys teaching and serves as a consultant for various pain management procedures, lecturing and educating across the country.

In her free time, Dr. Manzi enjoys exercising, SCUBA diving, snow skiing, reading, and traveling around the world, visiting friends and family. She also thoroughly enjoys her family time, with her two kids and significant other.
